This Privacy Policy explains how Riverview Seventh-day Adventist Church (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and discloses personal information when you use the RVC Outreach mobile application (package org.rvc.outreach) and its web portal (app.rvcoutreach.org).

The primary purpose of RVC Outreach is to facilitate Christian evangelism, community visitation, Sabbath school class administration, pastoral care, and church ministry record-keeping. By using the app, you agree to the collection and handling of information in accordance with this policy.

We only collect information that is strictly necessary for legitimate church ministry operations:

• Account & Profile Details: When your account is provisioned or updated, we store your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth (for birthday recognition and pastoral care), National Registration / ID number, Sabbath school class, and department affiliations.
• Outreach & Community Contacts (“Souls”): Names, contact numbers, residential locations/zones, Bible study progress, prayer requests, interests, and visitation status for individuals ministered to.
• Household & Territory Mapping: Geographic GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) of households visited during community outreach to prevent redundant visits and coordinate ministry coverage.
• Activity & Attendance Records: Attendance entries for weekly Sabbath school, ministry outreaches, department meetings, and distribution of spiritual literature.
• Device & Telemetry Data: Device model, operating system version, app version, network connectivity status, and crash/error reports collected solely to ensure application reliability and troubleshoot synchronization errors.

The RVC Outreach app may request certain device permissions. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's operating system settings.

We use the collected information exclusively for church-approved spiritual and administrative purposes:

• Evangelism Coordination: Organizing church outreach teams, assigning territory, and following up on Bible study requests.
• Pastoral Care & Member Care: Assisting pastors, elders, and care committees in visiting sick, absent, or struggling church members and commemorating member birthdays.
• Sabbath School Administration: Maintaining class registers, tracking visitor engagement, and assessing ministry performance.
• Authentication & Role Access: Ensuring only authorized leaders and registered church members can access ministry data according to their assigned role.
• Service Optimization: Diagnosing sync conflicts, fixing software bugs, and enhancing app performance.

Data is shared strictly within the scope of our church organization:

• Church Officers & Leaders: Pastors, elders, Sabbath school superintendents, class leaders, and department directors have access limited strictly to their jurisdiction (e.g. class leaders only access their class members and visitors).
• Infrastructure Providers: We use secure, vetted cloud hosting servers (e.g. for database hosting and HTTPS API endpoints) bound by strict confidentiality and security agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We will only disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulation.

We implement comprehensive technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data:

• Encryption in Transit: All communications between the mobile application, web browser, and backend servers are encrypted using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3 with HTTPS).
• Secure Access Tokens: User sessions are authenticated using encrypted tokens with automatic expiration. Passwords are never stored in plaintext and are salted and hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt/Argon2).
• Access Control: Strict role-based access control (RBAC) ensures users only have access to information pertinent to their church department or class.
• Off-Device Protection: Sensitive server infrastructure is monitored and protected with firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.

In full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and global privacy regulations, users have complete autonomy over their data and account retention.

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to maintain historical church registers. If you cease to be a church member or wish to delete your account, you have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated personal data.

How to Request Account & Data Deletion:

The RVC Outreach app is intended for church officers, adult members, and youth leaders. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 years of age without verifiable parental consent or oversight from church Sabbath school teachers.

When children participate in Sabbath school or church activities, any records (such as class attendance) are managed responsibly by designated church educators and guardians. If you believe a child has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data.

Regardless of your geographic location, you enjoy the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Right of Access: You can view your account profile, personal activity history, and affiliation details directly inside the “My Account” and “My Activities” screens in the app.
• Right to Rectification: You can update inaccurate or outdated information in your profile or request corrections through your Sabbath school class clerk or church administrator.
• Right to Restrict or Object: You can decline to grant device permissions (such as location or camera) without losing access to non-dependent features of the application.
• Right to Data Portability: You can request a summary copy of your personal attendance and activity logs by contacting the administrator.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our church practices, app capabilities, or statutory requirements. When updates are published, the revised “Effective Date” at the top of this document will be amended accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
